My little guy

We got a new puppy today! He is an 8 week old Lab mix. We are so excited to welcome little Super Mario into our home.

Challenge and OLW

Yeah! I finally finished my layout for the weekly challenge in Sandy's myspace group. I also incorporated OLW challenge 23. The word up was blessed. check out their blog here: http://onelittleword.typepad.com/ I am thinking about framing this layout and displaying it in my living room since the fabic matches my couch perfectly (in fact I purchased the fabric to make some throw pillows) I really need to work on my photography skills! In case you cannot see it, the background fabric is sewn together in "quilt style" squares.

The requirements for the challenge were to include:
- 1 accent of your choice (mine is the buttons)
- die-cuts (used my cricut to cut blessing -the cut is the "birthday blessings" cut on the George cart; I just trimmed off the birthday and "s" portion)
- fabric (my whole background is the red stitched fabric)
- Shape: Rectangles
- Color Accent: Black

If you read previous posts, you know that I was trying to find a good way to adhere the fabric. What I ended up doing was using Creative Imaginations' Scrappers' Spray. It worked perfectly! It is even temporarily re-postionable, which is perfect for fabric. That way I could get the fabric straight and flat without wrinkles. This adhesive is also great for vellum as it dries perfectly clear.

A sale!

I am so excited I just sold 21 cards to my Aunt! She cleaned my whole stock out. :) Yeah spending money for our trip. She also requested a special order for Mother's Day, so I have those to work on as well. Now I can tell Josh that my hobby is not a complete waste of money ;) lol

I made this card using the bag that my stuff came in at my LSS. They aways have the cutest bags and I wanted to come up with a way to use them for something. Sorry my photography skills aren't the best. The 1st photo is closer in color but the lighting makes it look more red. The clear with the white stripes is the bag. I place pink cardstock and cutout flowers under the bag and placed the sentiment and 1 flower on top. (this is one of the cards my Aunt bought this morning)

Utter Cuteness!

I am so very excited to share this. I found a template for these adorable teeny tiny paper baby shoes. I had to make one right away. There is definite room for improvement, but I really like how it turned out. Now I now what to do the next time.

I had a really hard time photographing this, I hope you can see all the fun details. I included my hand in this last pic so you get the idea how small this is.

I am going to try the girl one out too (tomorrow though as I need to get to bed now). I can think of so many awesome ways to use these. Put a card or money in them for a gift, favors for a shower, top a present, give to husband and say in 9 monthes you'll be a daddy, hang them as little ornaments, ect. I think they would look really cute on my diaper cakes as well. Anyone else have good ideas for these? If you make one I would LOVE to see it, just link my to a photo in the comments section.

Cards, cards, cards

I promise I do scrapbook as well. I've just been consumed in card making lately. I have about 10 more to go, and then I can scrap again. Honestly I am kinda avoiding it until I can figure out how to do my challenge layout with the fabric.



I made 2 of each of these cards for a set. My photos are not so good though. Both the cupcake and the sun are up on pop dots. They were inspired by a user on http://twopeasinabucket.kaboose.com/ unfortunately I forgot to note who the user was. Sorry! wish I could give her proper credit. If I find out I will update to add that information.

ETA: Kristina Proffitt is the poster on two peas. Yeah! She made #1 on the top 10

There is still time to get in the drawing for the RAK in the previous post. I will pick a name sometime next week. That way I can send it out before I leave for Florida (aaah! I can't wait for warm sunshine)

RAK

I have been busy, busy making cards. My Aunt asked me to make more cards for her, and I have a couple birthdays coming up. As you can tell I am a bit obsessed with the circle edge card. I made 2 more today. The next card I made is so bright and cheery. I love that green ribbon! It has the dots on one side and the stripes on the other. I am not sure if you can tell in the pic but I raised up the frame around the hanger to give the card more depth. The inside sentiment is "hang in there" Using the cute stamps I got for a dollar at Micheals. The last card is a criss cross card, using more birght colors and dollar stamps. You can find a tutorial for the criss cross card at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ in thier resources section. They have so many great tutorials on that site. I love it.

I am working on a layout with fabric, and need some advice. How should I adhere it? Should I do something to stiffen it so it lays flat nicely? I have used fabric in scrapping before, but only small pieces. I just ran it through my Zyron and that solved both problems at once. This time I want to do my whole background with fabric. If I have actually managed to acquire any readers, I would love suggestions.

Oh yeah, I have a Rak to give away celebrating the start of my blog. I will pick a winner from comments to this post . Not sure when I will pick a name, I guess first I actually need to get people to read me blog, huh?!

Bitten by the Bug

I finished my girl version of the CPS #54. I am submitting both of these cards to the baby card contest at the BBTB blog http://regina-bittenbythebug.blogspot.com/ The requirements were to use lime green and pink for a girl and lime green and blue for a boy. Use ribbon and use at least one cut from any cricut cart. I used my George cart to make the scalloped edges. I just cut out 24-1 in. circles and evenly adhered them around my lime green cardstock. Takes a little extra work, but I love the end result! I really like this card sketch and may come back to it again soon.
